Approach the island of Bergeggi, entirely covered in Mediterranean maquis, and admire the caves carved out by the sea as well as the incredible seabed that descends 6 to 8 metres rich in coralligenous and Posidonia oceanica, the true green lung of the Mediterranean marine ecosystem. Snorkelling in the marine environment of the Gulf of Noli, where, just 3 kilometres from Capo Noli, the seabed reaches depths of up to 1,000 metres, providing photography-loving divers with excellent inspiration for their shots. Reach as far as the Saracen Bay, one of the most romantic beaches on the Ligurian Riviera, which nestles between rocks and offers a golden beach whose sand continues below the waters that are always crystal clear. Did you know that in Albisola, the home of ceramics, there is a ceramic nativity scene at the bottom of the sea? “Il presepe degli abissi” are three ceramic and life-size statues representing the Nativity, placed in the stretch of water in front of the municipalities of Albisola Superiore and Marina, 200 metres from the shore and positioned at a depth of about 7 m. An original and unique spectacle… and perhaps with a good dose of luck, by scanning the sea carefully, you may have the chance to see some of the marine mammal species that can be spotted in our sea: the dolphin.
