Laigueglia Overview

The best trail to appreciate the beauty of Laigueglia.
The first section of the trail leads to Poggio Balaie (n.8) a lookout point from which you can admire from above Laigueglia, the entire range of the Maritime Alps and on the clearest days, free view of Corsica. Further on you reach a small village Colla Micheri (n.3) worth a visit, which has been restored thanks to the famous explorer Thor Heyerdahl, who’s been living here from the 1950s until his death. You may then return to the starting point (n.4) by descending from the same Roman road traveled by Pope Pius VII in 1814 on his way back to Rome from Avignon.
