Hay Trail

This is one of the most significant routes in Pietra Ligure well known because in ancient times, hay was transported from the hamlet of Santa Libera to the summit of Mount Carmo. Along the trail one can still admire old buildings called “Cabanui”, once used to provide shelter in case of bad weather for mules and their handlers carrying loads of hay. In addition to its historical and cultural significance, the scenic aspect is worth mentioning, as there are enchanting views of Pietra Ligure and part of the Ligurian Riviera.
