Its name means ‘border land’, a place of strategic importance since Roman times, Finalborgo is one of the three most beautiful villages in Italy in the province of Savona together with Noli and Laigueglia. Note its still well-drawn perimeter due to the medieval walls, interspersed with towers and entrance gates. Once inside, you can easily lose yourself in its small streets and squares.
Known as the Fifth Maritime Republic of Italy, it has been named one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages as it retains the charm and splendour of its era.
